During the healing process in permanent makeup, it is very common that the treated areas:
1. Becomes darker in colour 2-3 days after the treatment. Please do not be concerned, it is a very normal process.
2. Start to itch when the skin dries up. This dried layer of skin will start to peel off too. Please make sure not to scratch, peel, or pick this dried skin. Doing so will risk bleeding, scarring, prolonged healing and even infection. Let it fall off on its own.
3. After peel off is completed, there is still a layer of thin scab that hides the pigment. The pigmented area will look dull and faded. This usually happens up to 21 days after the initial treatment.
4. Healing process is completed in 4 to 6 weeks. The thin layer of scab peels off completely, the epidermis (top layer of the skin) regenerates, and the colour resurfaces. Client is ready for her touch up session to fix any imperfections.
